Richland One Book Barrel Campaign -

Let Your Office Help!

In conjunction with its L.E.A.D.S. (Literacy Excellence Achieves Desired Success) initiative, Richland One has launched a community-wide book barrel campaign. Book collection barrels will be set up at sites across the district and throughout the community to make it convenient for citizens to donate new or gently used books (no torn or missing pages) appropriate for students in grades K-12.

Books appropriate for donation through the book barrel campaign include picture books, chapter books, non-fiction books and novels. Books that are not appropriate for donation include textbooks, teacher’s editions and workbooks. Businesses and organizations that would like to serve as book barrel sites should contact Ida Tyler at the Deputy Superintendent’s Office (231-7432).

Box Tops for Education

Over 5,000 Box Tops have already been collected this school year which has raised over $500 for our school.  Great Job!  Keep clipping those Box Tops during the upcoming holidays!  Please be aware that Box Tops have expiration dates, so make sure your children spend all of their Box Tops by the end of this school year.  The next Box Tops store will be January 13th.  Please have your child bring their Box Tops in a baggie labeled with their name and the number of Box Tops.  Even one Box Top can buy something special.  The Box Tops store is in need of small toys, candy, etc.  If you would like to make a donation or volunteer a short amount of time at the Box Tops store, then please contact Sonia Heydt at 782-2398.  A special thank you to Becky Miller, Lisa Smith, and Laura Long for their help with the Box Tops store!

Also, be sure to visit the Box Tops for Education website and sign up to support our school.  Visit the website before you shop online at hundreds of your favorite stores to earn even more cash for Satchel Ford!  Encourage your friends & family to do the same!
