PASS Testing Proctors Needed |
|
Thank you to those who have
already volunteered to help!
However, we still need a few
more proctors for this &
next week's testing.
You will need to arrive by
7:30am and report to the
cafeteria. If you have
middle schoolers to deliver
to school first, you may
come around 8:30am and be a
hall proctor (and bring a
book to read). We do
not need hall proctors on
Tuesday the 19th. If
you are able to help, please
email
Lisa Fields
with your name and your
Satchel Ford children's
names and grades. |
|
Thank You!! |
|
You may have notice the new
storage shed that is located
between the cafeteria and
Drama Portable.
Purchased by the PTO, this
storage shed will be used
for several purposes.
Most importantly, however,
it will be used to house the
risers and chairs that are
normally pushed into the
corners of the cafeteria,
improving the appearance and
safety of this area.
Some minor finishing touches
will be added to the storage
shed in the next few weeks,
and we anticipate that it
will provide many years of
useful service to our
school.
The PTO would like to
express its appreciation to
two individuals who provided
professional expertise for
this project. Ray
Fontaine of Detail Designs,
Inc. assisted by helping
identify the type of storage
unit needed and the
appropriate site preparation
for the unit. Ray's
son, Grant, is one of our
fifth grade students.
David Dodenhoff of Dodenhoff
Tree Service volunteered his
time and equipment to level
the site. David's
children are former Satchel
Ford students and we are
very grateful for his
continued commitment to his
children's elementary
school. |

Volunteers: Worth Their
Weight in Gold |
If volunteers are worth
their weight in gold (and
they are), then our children
are the winners! Parents,
grandparents and friends
donate thousands of hours
each year to Satchel Ford.
They support students,
teachers and staff in
countless ways both in and
out of school. Some may only
have minutes to spare, but
every volunteer minute given
is valued. |
 |
|
The PTO tracks these minutes
and hours through volunteer
time cards, available in the
school office. The tally of
our volunteer hours appears
on our school report card
each year. The totals
for the year beginning last
June of are due by May 29th.
Please make your time count
once more for Satchel Ford
by turning in your time
card! |

Yearbooks Still Available |
It's not too late to
purchase your 2008-2009
yearbook, if you have not
already done so. They have
just arrived and look
fabulous! You don't
want to miss out on these
wonderful memories.
However, there are only a
limited number of copies
still available for sale.
They are $20 and will be
given out on Monday, May 25.
Don't wait! Place your
order today by filling out
an order form and returning
your info and money to your
homebase teacher.
Extra forms are available in
the front office. |
|
Rising
Kindergarteners |
If you or someone you know
will have a kindergartner
next year, it's imperative
that the child is registered
as soon as possible.
Having an accurate
enrollment number will
assist the school with
making sure there are enough
teachers and other resources
to provide a great learning
environment. Please
contact the front office for
more information. The
next school tour is
Monday, May 18th at
7:40pm. |
