Kindergarten Orientation
Kindergarten orientation will be held on Friday, February 3rd at 9am. If you know of anyone who will have a kindergartener next year, please let them know about this meeting. Parents will have the chance to sign up for next year or just receive information on the requirements to sign up.
VIP Day Is February 10th
One of the most special days at Satchel Ford is coming Friday, February 10th. Children will be inviting their “VIP” to come visit them at school. It is a fun day that has been a huge hit with our guests and the children for years now. We will have MANY guests that day; grandparents, parents, neighbors and friends. This day cannot be accomplished without our volunteers. There will be several times from 7:30-1:00 for you to help guide the guests and answer questions. If you are available, please contact Dolores Long or LeAnne Reynolds. Thank you for all you do!

Spring Fling Party
Oysters and Barbecue for the Braves! Join us on Saturday, March 10th at Rockbridge Club for a casual adult-only evening full of food, fun, and dancing to support the Satchel Ford PTO. Volunteers are still needed for this event. Please contact Elizabeth Balthazor, Elizabeth Chapman, or Mills James if you are interested. We would love to have you on board!

Become A Spring Fling Sponsor
A great way to show your commitment to academics, the arts, our students and our school is to become a Spring Fling sponsor! Sponsorship costs $150 and includes two tickets to the event. Please fill out the form in your child’s take-home folder and return with check to their homeroom teacher. You may also contact Elizabeth Balthazor if you have any questions.

Calling All Cooks: We are searching for 6 people who are willing to commit to cooking and delivering 2 meals over the next year. If there is a Rachel Ray inside of you just waiting to come out....this is the job for you! Please contact Margie Blackwelder for more info.

5th Annual Valentine Luncheon
The Valentine Luncheon for the faculty and staff will be held on Tuesday, February 14th. This is a fundraiser that is held by the Brave Arts. The luncheon raises money for the Fine Arts Program at Satchel Ford. Artists and residences, conferences, resources for our teachers and updated technology are just a few of the things we have paid for with money raised.
Each family will have the opportunity to buy any faculty or staff member a lunch on this day. Order forms and a more detailed explanation will be sent home on January 27th. Lunches will only be sold for one week (Jan. 30th – Feb 3rd). This is a great way to show the faculty and staff how much they are appreciated! Thank you for always supporting the Brave Arts!!

Shop and Help Satchel Ford
It’s easy to help our school as you shop! Here’s how…
At Piggly Wiggly, scan the bar code along with your Pig card just once. Then each time you use your Pig card proceeds will be given to SF. We have attached the green sheet with the annual bar code keyed for SF and are available in the school's main office and at the Forest Drive Pig. If SF shoppers meet a shopping minimum, the store will donate 1-2% back to Satchel Ford.
Don't forget about Publix keychain cards! More are in the SF office as well.
Through Target's Take Charge Of Education program, sign up for a Target Visa credit card or Target check card (a debit card, will come directly out of your checking account), and Target will donate 1% of sales. Sign up at www.target.com/tcoe (SF number is 93086), go to any Target store, or call 1-800-316-6142.
As you shop at BILO give the cashier the attached enrollment card along with your Bonus card. Again this is a one time process and each time thereafter you use your Bonus card and 1% of your purchases will go to SF. Call 800-768-4438 with questions.
